KDF Desk Calendar 2019

Posted in Fundraising.

Riding upon the success of our first collaboration with the postgraduates from the MA Art Therapy Programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, KDF and LASALLE got together again this year, for the KDF calendar project 2019.

This time, the theme was “Emotions during the dialysis journey”, and our patients were told to depict the emotions felt during their dialysis journey through their paintings. Through individual artworks, you will get a rare glimpse into the inner thoughts of a dialysis patient, be it the feelings when they were first diagnosed, how they feel going through dialysis three times a week, or how it is like having been on dialysis for many years. Each artwork is unique, and conveys a different emotion, using colours and various techniques to portray the right mood and feelings to achieve their desired look.

If you would like to support their efforts, you can purchase a desk calendar priced at $10 each.

Click here for a preview of the calendar and here to purchase. Bulk discounts will be extended to orders of 30 copies and above, and special customisation to include your corporate logo is possible at a charge. Please contact us for more information.

Alternatively, come join us at our charity art exhibition happening in October and December to view the paintings up close. Selected paintings, exclusive merchandise and the 2019 KDF Calendar will also be on sale to raise funds for our patients.

KDF 2018 Charity Icon “Dog of Fortune”

Posted in Fundraising.

Dogs are known for being man’s best friend as they are intelligent and fiercely loyal. This year, the KDF Chinese Community Committee is excited to present the “Dog of Fortune” – a German shepherd sculpture – as KDF’s charity icon for the year.

The “Dog of Fortune” seeks inspiration from the acclaimed Chinese art form of Liuli and features a German shepherd with a dignified posture and resolute stare, faithfully guarding the riches of its master which it rests upon. The calabash (or ‘Hu Lu’) beside the canine symbolises happiness and status and prosperity in one’s career and household.

A vivid representation with thoughtful detailing, accentuated with fluid and translucent shades of green and yellow, the icon measures a total height of 23cm and sits on a wooden base measuring 22cm by 14cm.

Temples, clans and lunar 7th month dinner organisers can support us by allowing KDF to auction our charity icon at your celebratory occasions and dinners to raise funds for our needy kidney patients. You may also support us by making an outright donation.

Extend hope to low-income dialysis patients by adopting a “Dog of Fortune” today.

Donations of $888 and above will be entitled to one charity icon.

All donations are entitled to 2.5 times income tax deduction. Click here to make a donation.
